Matias Spector comes to the University of Chicago after completing his Licenciatura in Letras at the University of Buenos Aires and receiving his master´s degree in Modern Languages (Spanish) at the University of Oxford. His interests focus on the Spanish Golden Age culture and literature, with particular emphasis on the reception of classical literature and philosophy. Other scholarly interests include the history of ideas in Early Modern Europe, the relations between the verbal and the visual, and the origins and evolution of literary genres.
