Jane Vincent is interested in medieval practices of reading and writing, the material transmission of texts, and the interplay between poetry, orality, and visual culture. How do new media remake thought, art, and interpretation? How do changes in the technology of reading change conceptions of the self? Outside academia, she works in sustainable agriculture and animal husbandry. She holds a BA in English from Reed College.
