Alba Girons Masot, Director of the Catalan Language Program, just published a practical guide to help language instructors negotiate the difficulties of blended synchronous learning (when some students are present in the classroom and others participate online in real time). Based on Alba’s own experience of teaching in this hybrid environment, her book will be a boon to instructors of less commonly taught languages. Teaching Languages in Blended Synchronous Learning Classrooms was coauthored with Nicholas Swinehart, Multimedia Pedagogy Specialist at the University of Chicago Language Center.
