Robert Morrissey and the ARTFL team have received an NEH Grant for a project to develop a prototype platform that will allow scholars to combine distant and close reading methods to discover relationships between texts and identify texts in collections for further study. ARTFL is a founding member of the Textual Optics Lab created with the support of the Neubauer Colloquium.
Irena Cajkova, full-time lecturer in Spanish, has been awarded the Janel M. Mueller Award for Excellence in Pedagogy by the Division of the Humanities. Students who have taken one of her classes know this recognition is well deserved.
Three graduate students from our department, Michele Kenfack, Manuel Olmedo Gobante, and Chiara Nifosi, have been awarded 2019-20 Dissertation Completion Fellowships.
Two Romance Languages and Literatures graduate students, Isaías Fanlo and Bastien Craipain, have been awarded Stuart Tave Teaching Fellowships. They will teach their self-designed undergraduate course during the 2019-20 academic year.
