Laura received her BA in English and Spanish literature and her MA in Spanish literature, both from the State University of New York, University at Albany. Her research focuses on the supernatural and the sinister in dictatorship and post-dictatorship literature and film in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, and Spain.

Research interests: Dictatorship and authoritarianism in the southern cone; horror, the sinister, the occult, and the gothic in literature and film; gender and sexuality studies
