Hilda Larrazabal wants to research how characters written by Mexican female authors achieve agency through journeys. She will also be seeking the university’s Graduate Certificate in Gender and Sexuality Studies. She is interested in works that straddle the border of the western literary canon, especially Latin American fiction. She was born in Monterrey, in northern Mexico, where she graduated with highest honors from Tecnológico de Monterrey with a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature. She loves Tropicália and is looking forward to learning Portuguese.
