Bastien Craipain, PhD Candidate in French and Francophone Studies, has just published a French translation of a book on the Paris Commune, Franchir les barricades: Les femmes dans la Commune de Paris, for the Éditions de la Sorbonne. The monograph by Prof. Carolyn Eichner traces the path of three women leaders, and places their feminist thought at the center of the revolutionary struggle of 1871. Craipain’s translation will help bring this perspective to a broader francophone public.
